Dear Members
I’m typing this on yet another cold day, wondering when this spring will become kinder so that we can stroll around to appreciate the snowdrops! I console myself with the thought that at least the days are becoming longer.
Those of you who heard the January talk about life on “Britannia” will agree that it was one of the best talks we have heard – it was certainly lovely to see so many of you there and it would be super to have a similar audience every time. Next Thursday’s speaker is Jason Fathers who will tell us about Dorset’s Birds of Prey. In Shillingstone, we have a buzzard which is to be seen sitting on one of the telegraph poles on the way into the village. Sadly, some of our Shillingstone members will miss the talk because they are supporting Nicki by going to watch a musical in which she is taking part.
I have to confess that several days have gone past since I started this letter; whilst one of Mike’s medical problems was properly diagnosed – he is to go into hospital on 16th February for a quick operation. Everything else has been put on hold so I’ll finish by expressing the hope that we shall see you on Thursday!
