I’m hoping that I shall have more success with a letter this month – life in our house in February was somewhat hectic! – and this should arrive in good time to remind you that our next meeting will be on March 18th, in the Day Hospital, at 7.30. Our speaker will be Mr Martin Shephard, the Pharmacist at the County Hospital in Dorchester. A few of you may have heard him talk about the drugs we take when you did your Rehabilitation Course, but it is always rewarding to be able to ask questions about their effects and so on, especially of such an experienced pharmacist.
Raymond, our new Speakers’ Secretary, has been looking at possible destinations for our Summer Outing and, at the next meeting, is going to talk about the attractions they offer, hoping for some feedback from you all. He has a truly fascinating selection! I am not sure whether Gordon, our previous Speakers’ Secretary, will be able to join us; he has not been in good health for some months now, and he has recently damaged his knee rather badly.
You will also hear from Richard Hoghton, who is hoping to recruit some sponsors to help him raise some funds for the British Heart Foundation; the very worthy cause in whose cycle ride he takes part each year. Thanks to your generosity and his hard work, it is a charity which really benefits – and which benefits us!
