Cardiac Rehabilitation
The Group is dedicated to the provision of community rehabilitation for patients in this rural area, so as to obviate the need for locals to go to Poole or Dorchester—both stressful journeys which deter patients. It has succeeded in persuading the local Health Authority to provide funds for this. Rehabilitation Courses have already been established in and with the help of, the Blandford Community Hospital, and the League of Friends.
In June 2005 a Service Level Agreement was agreed between the Trust and Dorset County Hospital.
The rehabilitation unit at Dorchester is run by Wendy Longley and it is one of her team, Elaine Tovell who looks after our courses in Blandford.
